    Jamie Rice

I have been a certified personal trainer for 14 years. It’s my passion as much as it is my hobby. Since the age of 5 I have been a competitive athlete. Gradually, my focus shifted to strength and conditioning in correlation with football after I suffered a devastating knee injury ending my football career. Little did I know that this event was a blessing in disguise. I became fascinated with the human body, specifically the physiological processes and functions as they relate to physical activity and nutrition. Graduating from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, I have applied over a decade worth of experience and education in the field of fitness, health, and nutrition to better the lives, physiques, and physical abilities of hundreds of individuals. I pride myself on my knowledge of nutrition and specialize in muscle gain and fat loss. So, if you’re a bodybuilder, physique/bikini competitor, athlete, a person seeking body composition change, or are interested in increasing strength and conditioning, I am the guy.

    • Systematically and strategically organize training splits that allow each muscle to exert maximal effort while ensuring complete recovery.
    • I strive to be the catalyst of change.
    • I believe that there is not an existing reason why you should not be the hardest worker in the room.
    • I train hard and I train fast.
    Training Philosophy
I believe that functionality is a critical component in fitness and health.  Without function, there is nothing.  Functional training is the foundation of our well-being and prevents injury on an acute and chronic level. To learn functional elements of health and fitness, each client must be analyzed physically and mentally. The analysis reveals vital information that serves as the groundwork for program design, guiding the client in achieving their realistic and attainable goals. Muscle imbalances, previous injuries, current injuries, postural distortions, and movement inhibitions are among a few examples of the physical assessments that must be completed prior to engagement of a full force program. Understanding that each client is unique and brings different attributes to the table is essential in designing a program specific to the individual. Some clients are disciplined with workouts (the physical), but lack the knowledge on the science of nutrition and exercise physiology (the mental), while others have the knowledge and/or motivation (the mental) but lack the physical discipline to complete the workouts administered to them. Studying the mind and focusing on the many strengths and weaknesses it encompasses is a vital part to being a successful trainer and coach. I believe that if the mind can be understood at the core level, many of the underlying reasons of why people do what they do as well as the methods they choose to perform can be improved. Lacking mental strength will cause a client to derail from goal attainment, something that I cannot enable to occur.  A successful trainer is not based on simply putting clients through “intense workouts”. Understanding what a client needs or wants and how to get them there in correlation with intense workouts is the most efficient and effective approach to becoming and being considered a good trainer.  When the physiological/anatomical/nutritional areas in combination with the mental side of the spectrum are understood, the journey will always be successful and pleasant. I pride myself on bringing positive energy, compassion, comfort, intensity, and dynamics to each and every workout and program. Things must constantly be changed to prevent plateaus or redundancy. Keeping each client focused on why we are practicing specific workouts or nutritional procedures is what it is all about. Once misunderstanding or boredom occurs, the chances of success diminish. I do not let that happen. I “put myself in their shoes” so I can better understand their perspective towards personal struggles/stressors that occur in life. By doing this, I can create programs that attack these possible deterrents, keeping the path towards goal attainment in sight.
